Depression is everywhere. Depression is not a joke. Depression is a serious matter being faced by different individual nowadays. In line with this, what is really depression all about?
According to Beyonblue:
While we all feel sad, moody or low from time to time, some people experience these feelings intensely, for long periods of time (weeks, months or even years) and sometimes without any apparent reason. Depression is more than just a low mood – it’s a serious condition that affects your physical and mental health.
For the past months we can hear news about individual taking their lives without apparent reasons. It is also stated that a person with depression might be cheerful and happy on the outside, with no one realizing until it is too late that the person had badly needed help and support.
This story of a boy at KFC is very timely in today’s generation.
Recently, this young boy who has a twitter account as @kyuriiie admitted that he had depression. He tell his own story by a tweets he posted on his twitter account on how an old lade saves his life from depression.
The twitter thread goes like this:
As stated on his tweet while he was dining at KFC an old lady approached him to ask if she could share his table. He didn’t really mind. Shortly afterwards they made small talk.
He never imagined that at this point her will open about his feelings into a total stranger.
Then the old lady began to tell her story as well.
But the old lady’s grandson was not able to handle his depression – and this cost him his life. Imagine what depression can take away into each individual’s life?
Its not always that we can meet people who will make us realize so much more in life. This old lady had tears in her eyes as she encouraged him to always look on the bright side so he won’t let sadness and depression win.
This encounter will happen maybe 1 or 2 people out of 10. But this chance encounter changed the life of the boy.
Depression can happen to everyone. Just always keep in mind that when you feel something bad or wrong about yourself don’t hesitate to tell what you feel to your family, trusted friends even to God through prayers.
