Governments across the globe are implementing “social distancing”, wherein people aren’t allowed to meet with a group of more than ten people. This is to lower the possibility of spreading the disease further, in addition to putting infected people and their families in a 14-day quarantine in their homes. People are advised to stay at home and avoid going out, especially going to crowded places such as churches, malls, bars, and restaurants. But of course, it is still up to the citizens to abide by these rules, especially when they want to survive this pandemic.

Despite warnings, there are a lot of people who continue to go about their day, going to work and doing things like nothing is wrong. A lot of people are too lax, believing that the pandemic will soon end. One couple decided to do something many wouldn’t recommend, and it got mixed reactions from netizens. This couple from Lapu-lapu city decided to get married amidst the Coronavirus scare. Donned in masks, the couple, including the officiant of the wedding, went about the civil wedding like normal, and were done in just a few minutes.

The pictures, which were posted and shared on social media, gained mixed reactions from netizens. Some netizens congratulated and cheered for the couple for “going strong” despite the world crumbling in the chaos that is Coronavirus. However, there are those who think that the couple went too far and chose the worst time to get married. They believe that the couple not only endangered themselves, but also other people who attended the wedding. In their defense, some believe that the wedding was necessary especially after seeing that the woman was evidently with child.
