It is purportedly the biggest film produced in the history of Philippine cinema.
There is no denying that historical movies have taken over the big screen lately and many Filipinos are loving it. The Filipino youth is learning about their country’s history, while they indulge in the beauty of Philippine cinematic art. After ‘General Luna’ and ‘Goyo’, many Pinoy fans are wondering whose story is to hit the big screen next.
And finally, the wait is over. The latest movie to hit the screen is that of General Miguel Malvar’s story, the last Filipino general to surrender to the Americans. Though not much is revealed about the upcoming movie, one thing is for sure: Senator Manny Pacquiao holds the titular role in the movie! The film, which is directed by Jose “Kaka” Balagtas with a screenplay by Ed Samson, boasts a poster showing the boxing champ looking exactly like the said historical hero, donned in a macho-looking uniform used during the time of Malvar.
Though the movie was officially launched on September 27, Pacquiao had a prior commitment in Dubai and wasn’t able to attend. However, the producers decided to
invite Manny Paksiw, Pacquiao’s stunt double and look-alike, instead.
Are you guys ready to see how well Manny Pacquiao plays the role of General Malvar?
