Let’s all admit it, it is really hard to find a parking space in a mall or other establishments especially if is peak hours. Sometimes it will take you less than hour or if comes much worst maybe more than an hour.
There is no denying that finding a parking space is one taxing task for motorists in the busy metro nowadays, but is it lawful to reserve one by standing in it?
A man was yelling at a driver for parking on the space that he was “saving” for a car which was supposedly on the way.
On the said video the conversation went like this:
“Hindi nga bawal kasi nga may bata ‘yung magpa-park,” the man who stood said.
To which the driver responded: “May bata din po kaming kasama… Tawag po tayo guard kung may problema po tayo.”
In the end, the man who was trying to reserve the slot had no choice but to let the driver take it.
On the other hand, MMDA or Metropolitan Manila Development Authority says that reserving parking space by standing in it is not in line with parking regulations.
They also added that parking is for vehicles and not for human.
We can also see this in a lot of different malls here in the Philippines, saying and reminding us that standing on the parking space is never allowed just to reserve a slot.
There is a designated parking space if you are PWD or if you are pregnant. May we all be aware of this and follow all rules and regulations properly and accordingly.
