Pinoy Remake of Korean Movie ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ Officially Out on Christmas

For many Korean drama and movie fans out there, “Miracle in Cell No. 7” is definitely one of the best Korean films to ever hit the big screen. The story revolves around a mentally handicapped single father who is wrongly accused, tried and sentenced to death for the rape-murder of an elementary school girl. Lee Hwan-kyung’s Miracle in Cell No. 7 shows the meetings the man has with his daughter while in prison in the months that lead up to his execution and the friendship she forges with his fellow inmates. Years later, the girl grows into a woman set on exonerating her dad with their help.

MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer said that Bela Padilla will be taking the lead role alongside Aga Muhlach, to play the role of the mentally handicapped father. “We believe that Bela Padilla is an excellent actress and a bankable star and she will significantly contribute to the film’s artistry and commercial success,” he added. Other actors like JC Santos, Joel Torre, Soliman Cruz, Jojit Lorenzo, and Mon Confiado, are part of the all-star cast.
